New to praise?

What to Expect at Praise

The Praise Christian Fellowship congregation invites you to visit. We would love to have you become part of our church family.

Thinking about visiting?

We’d love to have you as our guest!  We want guests to feel welcome, comfortable, and not put on the spot or embarrassed. Sometimes visiting a church can be intimidating, and we want to do whatever we can to take the edge off a first-time visit to Praise. Here are a few questions that might be on your mind:

How should I dress?

We are a pretty casual church. Most people wear jeans, but there are usually a few people who are a little dressier. Bottom line — you will probably be comfortable in anything from shorts and a t-shirt to a shirt and tie.

What is your style of worship?

Our worship services include singing, prayer, and Biblical teaching. Our services are contemporary — we sing mostly praise and worship songs but also include hymns. We have several teams that take turns leading worship — we usually have vocalists, piano/keyboard, drums, and guitars. We don’t have formal liturgy in the service and the pastors don’t wear vestments. Our worship services usually last 60-70 minutes. Every week we have a sermon that is about 20-25 minutes long, usually towards the end of the service. Once a month (usually the first Sunday of the month) we serve communion during the service.

What do I do when I get there?

We suggest that you arrive about ten minutes before the service. We have three parking lots — two that are close to our main entrance and a third lot that is accessible from our lower level behind the building. When you come in the main doors to our foyer you will be greeted by someone from our welcome team. They will welcome you and give you a worship folder. If you are a first time visitor, we encourage you to visit the welcome table and fill out a connection card to help us get to know you and better meet your needs.

After you enter the foyer you’ll see doors to our sanctuary on the right. One of our ushers can help you find a seat if needed.

While our finances are provided by the giving of our members and attendees, we do not pass an offering plate during our worship service so that guests do not feel pressured to give.

We typically serve coffee and refreshments after our services. We encourage you to stay, greet others, and enjoy the fellowship.

We hope that you can join us for worship soon! If you have any other questions, please contact us.
