How do you measure up? What a loaded question! If we’re honest with ourselves, we spend most of our lives trying to measure up to some kind of standard.

Whether or not we want to realize it, words have power. How many of us have been blessed by a well-timed compliment or have found comfort in an encouraging word from someone we care about? On the flip side, how many times have we been hurt by something that someone has said to us or about us?

Today is Good Friday. Considering the day’s events, it is so difficult to understand how this was “good.” Good Friday began with a betrayal and arrest of an innocent man, nay, the Son of God.

Starting on Sunday, we move in to celebrating Holy Week, where we remember Jesus’ journey to fulfill what He came to do in His earthly ministry. His work on the cross is the focal point of the week as we remember how Christ willingly exchanged His life for ours

At the pinnacle of the Creation account, Genesis 2:7 tells us how God creates Adam. We read that “the Lord God formed the man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.”

For the past couple of weeks, as I have been writing these emails/blog posts, I have been thinking about what would be beneficial for our church to hear each week. What is it that would be beneficial for us to read each week and wouldn’t just be another piece of mail clogging up inboxes?

This past week, we had the opportunity to open our building to use as a vaccination clinic. In working with the Farmington Valley Health Department to open the building, it was surprising to me that they were having a hard time finding places to serve as clinics in our area.

This coming Sunday is Valentine’s Day and so I would be completely remiss if I didn’t somehow speak about LOVE (insert romantic orchestral music here).
