Pastor Call - The Voting Results Are In

Dear Praise Family,

It is with great joy and excitement that we announce the results from our Congregational Meeting to vote for the calling of Pastor Langlois and his family to Praise. In what appears to be a historic response garnering more than 85% of our voting membership, the members of Praise have unanimously elected to call Pastor Evan and his family to our congregation.

Your next question will no doubt be, when will our new Pastor start? First, let's reflect on that statement, "our new Pastor." For many or all of us, that alone can cause the eyes to moisten. Second, the election was our agreement to call Pastor Evan and now he and his family have a brief but reasonable window of time in which to respond to our call. We have called a new Pastor and that long-awaited news is something worthy of celebration.

Assuming Pastor Evan will respond as we believe he will, some consideration must be given to his departure and transition from Bethany. Originally, this departure and transition were expected to be much different than our current circumstances require due to the ongoing pandemic. We would like Pastor Evan to begin his ministry with us as soon as practical and mutually agreeable given these uncertain pandemic times. Our desire for this must also be balanced with the recognition of Pastor Evan's need to finish well at Bethany and have a time of refreshment before starting at Praise.

The leadership at Praise will be working diligently with Pastor Evan to facilitate this exciting transition and we will provide you all with an update on the timeline as soon as possible. Meanwhile, we are in good hands, as God has graciously provided Pastor Warren Geraghty during this interim period on a part-time basis. Please keep him and CJ in prayer for their ministry and health during this unusual time in our history.

Please also be in prayer for Pastor Evan and his family as they make their final decision in answer to our call. Pray for Bethany as they begin the process of saying goodbye to the Langlois family, and we are very grateful that they will not need to move from their current home and community. We look forward to this new chapter when, even as the world is practicing social distancing, we are drawing closer to our sister church at Bethany.
